At the end of May, teachers from Viļaka Secondary School Līga Leitena and Ija Krylova went on a visit to the international Erasmus+ project SEED ("School Emotional Education: The Right Practical Way for Teachers to Teach Emotional Education in Primary School"), which took place in the city of Izmit, Turkey. During the visit, the project partners evaluated the activities completed so far - the developed teacher's guide, the piloting process of activities that teachers and students implemented in their schools from April to May and summarized the results, as well as planned future activities. Emotional intelligence is an essential part of a child's personality development. It helps to acquire skills that allow them to understand, manage and express their emotions, as well as successfully navigate the social environment. Emotional education promotes positive relationships, strengthens mental health, improves academic achievements, promotes constructive conflict resolution, increases self-confidence and creates the foundation for a successful future.

Empowering students through STEAM and Sustainability Education Why does STEAM education matter? Because the world’s biggest challenges — from climate change to equality — need creative problem-solvers with both technical knowledge and social awareness. That’s where the STEAMinSDGs project comes in. By linking Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics with the Sustainable Development Goals, we’re helping teachers inspire a new generation of changemakers. Especially for girls and underrepresented students, connecting learning to real-world issues like sustainability makes education more meaningful, inclusive, and empowering. Our team visited Verona, Italy to learn about AI and Language Education! Throughout the 3rd year of our Erasmus+ Accreditation, four staff members of our organization’s Lifelong Learning, Technical, and European Programmes Departments took part in a training mobility in Verona, Italy. This Erasmus+ KA1 mobility course offered participants an in-depth, hands-on exploration of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support and transform language teaching and learning. Over five dynamic days, educators from different nationalities came together to explore innovative tools, design AI-enhanced lessons, and discuss the ethical, pedagogical, and creative implications of AI in education. #KA1 #ERASMUS+ #AI #LANGUAGE
